Lauren Bauer

Director
Lauren Bauer
, Director of the Community House Ballet and Jazz School and a dance educator for over 30 years, offers classes in RAD and Vaganova (Russian) Method. Her pedagogical training was with Sharon Dante, foremost authority in the Vaganova System of Classical Ballet. As a young dancer and performer on the east coast she trained extensively in ballet, jazz, musical theater and tap with dance legends and master teachers such as David Howard, Charles Kelley, Luigi, Savion Glover, Danny Daniels, Gelsey Kirkland and Ann Reinking. She is a member of Michigan Dance Council and the National Dance Education Organization. She has adjudicated for Michigan Youth Arts Festival, Michigan Ballet Theater and the Cultural Arts Award of Birmingham Bloomfield. Most recently Ms. Bauer returned to New York to attend American Ballet Theater’s National Training Curriculum Launch, as well as the DanceLife Conference in Phoenix, AZ. Her students have gained admission to professional dance and theater companies as well as colleges and universities as dance majors. Many have enjoyed professional careers in performing and teaching dance.

 

 


Katie DeLoy

Associate

Katie Deloy has been a member of the Oakland Dance Theater and the Oakland University Repertory Dance Company.  She completed her Bachelors in Performing Arts at Oakland University. Ms. Deloy teaches Creative Dance, Jazz, and Tap.  In addition she is coordinator for the jazz performance groups. Her competitive jazz students have consistently achieved high awards and scholarships for their performance. Ms. Katie's enthusiasm for nurturing each child's individual development and love of dance is a great asset to our program.

 


Shannon Einhardt

Associate

Shannon Einhardt has been a guest teacher for The Community House Ballet and Jazz School Summer Ballet Intensive Camp for the past three years.  She has been dancing and performing since the age of two under the tutelage of her mother, Sheryl Einhardt, with whom she is Co-Director of Dance Expressions in St. Claire Shores. Shannon has a BA in Dance from Western Michigan University and has been a guest performer with MoreDances Contemporary Dance Company. She teaches ballet at the St. Claire Shores Skating Club and was dance team coach for Lakeview High School. Shannon has a high energy teaching style and brings a wealth of knowledge to her students, having grown up in a dance school environment.


Julie Gervais

Associate

Julie Gervais received a BA Cum Laude from the State University of New York. She studied ballet pedagogy and theory at Skidmore College in New York and was an adjunct faculty member at Marygrove College. Her performance credits include Lexington Ballet in Lexington, Kentucky, MoreDances Contemporary Dance Company in Troy and MOT’s production of La Traviata at the Detroit Opera House.

 


Anne Ledbetter

Associate

Anne Ledbetter received her BFA in Dance (Ballet Pedagogy) from the University of Oklahoma. She trained with Ballet Oklahoma, Classical Ballet School and was a member of the Oklahoma Festival Ballet at OU under the direction of Mary Margaret Holt. Anne has trained at several ballet summer programs including Virginia School of the Arts and Tulsa Ballet. Anne served as the Children's Director at Classical Ballet School in Oklahoma City for two years, where she taught ages three through adult.  She completed training in “Leap N’ Learn,” an intensive highly specified training in the teaching of three to six year olds. Anne strives to create a nurturing classroom environment and to be proactive in communicating with parents to provide positive feedback regarding each student’s unique learning style.

 


Roberta "Bobbi" Lucas

Associate
Roberta “Bobbi” Lucas is a professional performing artist, choreographer and director. She is a National Master Artist for the Wolf Trap Institute and has conducted classroom residencies and teacher trainings for the Institute throughout the United States as well as England, and Greece.  Her education includes a BA in Theatre and Dance from Oakland University and an MA in Psychology for the Center for Humanistic Studies.  Her local training and performing in Modern, Post-Modern and Contemporary Dance include Linda Z. Smith, The Detroit Dance Collective and Laurie Eisenhower.   Master Workshops and Intensive Studies with Judith Jamison, Deborah Hay, Trisha Brown, Bill Evans and Anna Halprin have and continue to provide her inspiration to teach and create dance.  She received the Alumni Arts Achievement Award from Oakland University for her “outstanding contributions to children’s dance.”

 


Renee Wood

Associate
Renee Wood trained in Michigan and later continued with masters of the Bolshoi, American Ballet Theatre and the Royal Danish Ballet as well as renowned ballet teacher David Howard. While attending Western Michigan University she studied pedagogy extensively with Jurgen Schneider, former Ballet Master of American Ballet Theater. Ms. Wood has also had extensive training and performance experience in jazz, tap and musical theater. Her excellent work with students was honored in 1997 with the Michigan Dance Teacher of the Year Award. Ms. Wood most recently traveled to Chicago to study at the World Jazz Dance Congress and also attended the CORPS de Ballet International Teacher Conference, as well as seminars with ABT in New York and the Paris Opera Ballet in Miami. Professional affiliation includes National Dance Association, American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and International Association for Dance Medicine and Science.
