Liz Walker-Kreutziger, Company Coordinator
Liz graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Oakland University. Following that, she received a Master of Arts degree from The University of Denver in Arts Development and Program Management. Her most influential teachers included Laurie Eisenhower, Greg Patterson, Ali Woerner, and Thayer Jonutz. Beginning her dance education at the age of 3, she has studied many forms of dance. She began focusing on ballet, both Cecchetti and Russian methods, as well as pointe at the age of 10. Liz believes that Pointe must be geared toward the individual since no two are alike.
Liz’s professional credentials are extensive. She has studied with the Alvin Ailey Dance Program in New York City and choreographed numerous dance pieces including a solo receiving high marks for ACDFA and Get Up and Move, hosted by the Michigan Dance Project. Liz has performed as a guest dancer with EDE Motown in Motion and danced professionally with MoreDances Contemporary Dance Company, Vertical Ambition Dance Company, ArtJab J Dance and Life/Art Dance Ensemble. Additionally, she has toured with singer Tunde Olaniran, performing in cities throughout the United States. She has been a guest teaching artist with Farmington High School, Cranbrook Schools and the Michigan Thespian Festival. Liz has taught comprehensively throughout Michigan and Colorado, including many years at the historic Village Youth Theatre here in Birmingham.
Liz’s philosophy is one that integrates injury prevention, technique, and self-expression through movement.
