Accounting Associate (Full-time)

The Community House is seeking a full-time Accounting Associate responsible for processing the day-to-day accounting activity of The Community House Association and The Community House Foundation including the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable, recording cash received, and entering bi-weekly company payroll.

Responsibility

• Prepares bank deposits and maintains cash ledger in QuickBooks
• Administers bi-weekly employee payroll including maintaining vacation and sick time
• Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Processes monthly payroll for program teachers
• Assists with monthly general ledger entries and financial analysis as requested
• Assists with year-end audit
• Processes and maintains event deposits and event cash banks

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience preferred
• 1-3 years professional accounting experience
• QuickBooks and nonprofit experience preferred
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Payroll experience preferred
• Excellent mathematical aptitude
• Cashier experience beneficial
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
• Able to meet required deadlines
• Able to keep employee, salary and other proprietary information confidential
